"If you’re looking for a lovely place to have lunch, you can stop at the village’s award-winning pub The Five Bells Inn"
… Located on The Street, just a six minutes' walk from the church. It has been described on Tripadvisor as a “fantastic” place to eat and stay overnight.
The 16th century venue overlooks the rolling hills of the north down in east Brabourne. The quintessential English country pub features four gorgeous guest suites and has, in the past, been voted Kent Life Pub of the Year and Kent Pub of the Year in the National Pub Awards.
The menu offers a variety of vegan (V) and gluten-free (GF) options including its potato dumplings (V) for £17, its seasonal vegetable Goan curry (V and GF) for £17, its thyme-roasted duck breast for £26 and many more. It reads on its website: “Our head chefs show off their creativity by running an extensive list of changing daily specials alongside our set menus.
“We’re proud to use the best local producers and suppliers and make the most of seasonal Kentish produce.” One user, who visited The Five Bells Inn last month, said: “We booked in the afternoon and arrived that evening. The welcome we received was outstanding, warm and friendly.
“Our room was exceptional. We had dinner, which was beautiful - prawn tian, fish and duck for mains. We feel very lucky to have found this place and we will return.
“The pub itself is really lovely, log fires in the bar and the bedroom, plenty of hot water, nice touches in the room including port, lots of core pods and Bramley organic toiletries. The team working here are exceptional and make the pub and stay over special.”
